detraining of a sport dog & reintroduction to training after off-season

Recording of the webinar detraining/recovery break of a sport dog & reintroduction to training

[webinar – online lecture + exercise plan]

It’s widely known that keeping a dog in peak physical condition throughout the entire year is not feasible. We believe that organizing activities in cycles, including a proper de-training phase (recovery phase), allows dogs to enjoy a longer and healthier sports career. Implementing a recovery break can be challenging, and poor planning may lead to injuries when returning to sport.
Over the past several years, we’ve been implementing different protocols for the recovery phase and the return to activity afterwards, and that’s exactly what I would like to share with you.
The content will be covered from two perspectives: the dog handler’s perspective (what we can do independently) and the physiotherapist’s perspective (what should be assessed, checked, and recommended for our patients).
